I've enjoyed jigsaw puzzles in many forms for decades.
I've written this page with two goals...
I'll come to the free images in a moment.
I will write about making traditional jigsaws and about creating jigsaws for assembling on your computer screen.
In February 2024, I used Jigsawpuzzle.co.uk to have a simple 300 piece jigsaw made from an image.
The company sells many puzzles, including jigsaws with professionally created artwork. Use the "Photo Jigsaw Puzzle" link in the navigation bar to get to the part of the site about having a jigsaw made from your artwork.(Or try this: https://www.jigsawpuzzle.co.uk/jigsaw-photo-puzzles.html)
Options abound!
It cost me £17, including p&p. They warned that the resolution of my image was not quite adequate, but I went ahead anyway. While you could see that it wasn't very sharp, it was adequate for my tastes. For a 300 piece jigsaw, the finished puzzle is about 48 x 35cm. Imagine having a print this large made of your photo. It will need better resolution that you would need for an image on a webpage, or for a small print.
I wanted to purchase it in the UK, for shipment to a UK address, but their site says that they serve international destinations. (There's a pull down on the top of the page to access various local versions of the site.)
Ordering was straight-forward and trouble free. The pieces were on good card, well cut. The shapes were varied to a pleasing (and helpful!) degree. There were no annoying "nearly fits" issues. (They sell puzzles on wood, but do not, it seems, offer to make them from the customer's artwork.)
I was very happy with Jigs@w Puzzle (Maker) from Tibosoftware the last time I played with it. It has been a few years, I admit (at May 2024)
I used it for several years; it was a stable product. And from a quick glance it still seems to be there.
The gameplay was excellent. Lots of options for how complicated the puzzle will be.
The terms of use were excellent. (And still are, as far as I know.) It seems that you can still get a good taste of the product for nothing. You can send puzzles to your friends by e-mail. You can create standalone puzzle games (EXE). (You might have to pay a one off fee of $9.95 for one or maybe both of the latter features.) (I found the "menu" for buying a little confusing. If you just want to make your own puzzles, I'm pretty sure you only need the minimum package ($9.95). The "bigger" packages come with puzzles to do, puzzles created by others.
In this section there are some images on your screen. If you click on the text near one of them, you will download a high resolution copy of the image. (It may load into your browser, from which you will have to use your browsers "save image" function. (In Firefox, on Windows, you can get that with a right click.) Or it may just go straight to your "downloads" folder. If it opens in your browser, it should open in a new tab or window. When you've saved it to your computer, just close the tab to get back here.
You are free to use the images as you wish. A link to my webpage would be welcome, when you have a way to include it sensibly. Or maybe mention it in social media, etc.?
Please get in touch if you discover flaws in this page. Please mention the page's URL. (wywtk.com/hh/js/jigsaw-puzzles.htm).
If you found this of interest, please mention in forums, give it a Facebook "like", Google "Plus", or whatever. If you want more of this stuff, help!? There's not much point in me writing these things, if no one feels they are of any use.

Unlike the clever Google search engine, this one merely looks for the words you type, so....
* Spell them properly.
* Don't bother with "How do I get rich?" That will merely return pages with "how", "do", "I"....
Please also note that I have three other sites, and that this search will not include them. They have their own search buttons.

Page has been tested for compliance with INDUSTRY (not MS-only) standards, using the free, publicly accessible validator at validator.w3.org. It passes in some important ways, but still needs work to fully meet HTML 5 expectations..
